I noticed this too. I have the R4 compressor in my car that I was going to use as-is, but with all the bad things I keep hearing, I'd like to look at other alternatives. How do we know which blue Ford orifice tube to use?

The kits are somewhat similar. The compressor hoses had to be made up. I believe they are longer than the ones in the earlier kit. All hoses and ends were supplied. I found a garage to crimp them for me for cheap.

Call the Classic Auto Air location in Florida. I spoke to a guy named Ron. He was friendly and knowledgeable.

As I recall 4 Seasons was making three different orifice tubes for our cars. I would use one of those instead of a Ford tube. Supposedly they are good according to the environment the car is in. Desert, low speed traffic, etc.

My ac guy said that the stock type would work fine. That's the orifice tube that I used.

the ford orifice tube you want is the .67 one I believe it came with the 89-92 ford thunderbird. That is how I found the part number. I ordered my parallel flow condenser from climate Parts for $119. To make the new connections I used U Bend'em aluminum ac tubing from Summit about $15 each.
