Default Exhaust

Is there anyone out there who has purchased and installed on a 1978 4 speed, the Blueprint 38313CTC1 engine and has figured out what headers and true dual exhaust to install? I seem to be getting different answers from Jegs and Summit on what will work and not work. I then spoke with Blueprint customer tech service and they said they heard of a guy who used ones that fit on a mid 70's Camaro. I just wanna know what will work and not be a nightmare installing or changing my spark plugs. Any help would be great.

If the exaust ports are in the stock small block location, any standard header will fit. I would buy a good name brand header and ask them if shorty plugs are needed. You are going to need a Pypes exaust system if you intend to keep your stock transmission crossmember. The Pypes system will adapt to headers and it runs both driver and passenger exhaust down the passenger side but it's true duals running side by side and then splitting at the rear.

Dougs headers and side pipes were just delivered to my shop today. They are going on my 74. It seems the easiest way to transform to headers to me. Also, for what it's worth, I have do not have much faith in Summit anymore. I got all my exhaust stuff from Corvette Central. It fits, they will help you and they have not made a mess out of any of my orders.
