Ordered Billet Specialties street lites for the 72. Tell the guy they are going on a 72. I throw them on and have about a dimes clearance between the rim and brake caliper. Figured I'd throw a thin spacer on as I have absolutely no confidence that a dimes clearance is enough. Any thoughts on spacer thickness??
A wheel should not flex, but to use my drag slicks I put in these 1/8th inch aluminum wheel spacers that i bought from summit racing for our bolt pattern size
I'd be worried if the wheel flexes enough for that to be an issue. You'll get plenty of warning (rubbing noise) if they do. I'd run them without spacers and see if it became an issue - and I'd expect it would be fine. Nice looking wheels!

I just put 1 year ago impala 12 inch rotors in place of the front 11 inch Grand Prix rotors with the stock GP rims and the clearance is VERY close...no issues after 15,000 miles of driving.
I recently installed the Street Lite Black rims on my 76. My front rims just touched on the caliper. I ended up putting 1/4" spacers on mine just to be safe.

I already changed and upgraded the rear studs to the 1/2" x 3"ARP studs when I installed the HD rear axles, so there was no problem there. I did end up changing the front studs, though. I wasn't comfortable with the amount of threads that the lug nut was catching. I'm running open lug nuts so I cut off the excess stud flush with the outer edge of the nut. I'm running the 7/16" x 3" ARP suds studs on the front.
