I have a multi-part question:
1. Was cruise control standard equipment in 75?
2. Did the turn signal lever have the cruise control button built in or was it externally mounted with a wire exposed running down into the steering column?
Sorry for these goofy questions, but you must understand I have never seen this car in one piece and just don't know how things were when it left the assembly line. It seems no one has a one piece speedometer cable?
On Corvettes, cruise control was not available as a factory installed option until 1977. All 1977 through 1982 models operate the cruise via a multi-purpose directional lever. Once removed from the steering column, these levers do have a small bundle of wires, i.e. harness attached at the base about 18 inches in length. These wires are similar in size to telephone wire, however they are not visible when the lever is installed. On Corvettes, there were several different design use between 1977 to 1982 for these multi-purpose levers, however they all have the typical push button.

Thanks Geffrey "Doc". I kinda thought this cruise I have was a bubba special. Now all I have to do is find the correct speedometer cable. All I've been able to find is upper and lower cables which I'm assumming are used for cruise control only? still
I don't know why, but both my 73 and 69 had two piece speedo cables. I don't know if the inner core was one piece or not. Might be related to the tranny? Joe
