- Now its the clutch
The odd thing about this is that it was very sudden - I'm wondering if something broke. I havent had a chance to crawl under the car for any serious diagnosis so I can t say any more than that but will ask anyway.
Before this the clutch had good pedal pressure with a very noticable resistance part way through the pedal stroke when it would then lighten up.
Now the pedal feels as if there is a simple coil spring attached to it - very little pedal pressure, disengagement is poor and engagement is even poorer - almost in the last 1" of pedal travel - and there is considerable slippage. Is it possible to break the diaphram spring?
There is no noticable noise on engagement or disengagement.
I'm really just trying to diagnose in my head whats going on before I crawl underneath.
So - anybody elses experiences?
BTW this is the clutch that was on the car when I bought it over 5 1/2 years and over 60k miles ago...should I count my blessings and get a new clutch anyway?
I'm thinking Centerforce I - yeah or nay?
