Default new gauges

I am installing some new gauges in my 79. autometer, artic white.
mechanical gauges. I have a question about the fuel gauge. with the new gauges I will not need the printed circuit for the center gauge cluster. Looking at the wiring diagram I am seeing a pink wire looks like it goes to the fuel tank sender, black wire to ground, and brown wire to 12volt switched power? I was think of using the wires that plug into the printed circuit. that look correct to anyone?

Thanks
Terry

The pink/black wire is the one you want to use for +12V as it comes from the 10A "GAUGES" fuse. It is hot with the key at "RUN" or "START".

Yes--the two black wires at that connector are both chassis grounds.

The pink wire comes from the fuel sender.

If you need background lighting (dimmed via the headlight switch) use the grey wire.

If for some reason you need a very small amount of constant power you can tap into one of the numerous small gauge orange wires you'll find in the general area.
