i want to set up an auxiliary fan in front of the radiator , so i picked up an 84 corvette electric fan . whats the easiest way to set this up ? also i have a 4core radiator , how do i connect the fan to it ? would i be better off getting a fan from summit or jegs ? the biggest debate i have is do i want to hook it to a temp. gauge to go on & off automatically or set it up with a switch ( i want it to be easy enough for a novice to do / i dont mind hitting the switch to turn it on and off ). last but not least if i place this fan on the front and at some point place another one on the other side of the readiator ; would i still need the fan connected to the engine ?

1. I don't think clearance with hood open will permit a fan in front of your Radiator.
2. The 84 fans will require removal of the C3 mech fan and shroud.
3. The 84 fans will require a wiring harness with relays and sensors.
4. Consider the 80-82 aux fan setup. It has a 16" fan inside the OE shroud in front of the mech fan. I think it is wired in to come on with the AC. This would be simpler than the 84 fans.
I added an AUX fan to my '69. It's the electric fan out of a GM mid 90's N-car (Grand Am, Skylark, Achieva). It has 2 tabs on the bottom that I fit into holes I cut into the bottom of my rad shroud. At the top I fashioned a bracket that fits to the center bracket on my radiator support. It fits and works quite well.
Electric is a matter of a relay and a switch. You can find a temperature controlled switch with a manual override what has a little tube thing that goes inside the upper rad hose. Not a big deal to work out at all.
i was lucky enough to finally get my hands on a 1980 electric fan . the only problem is that its not like im taking one out to put one in , there isnt one connected so i dont know which wires belong to it . i have to rewire the whole thing. im not an electrician but id rather do it myself . this is the only link i could find , look correct ? http://iotech.no/corvette/ under technical ; elec. fan installation
