Hi M,
The turn signs flasher is mounted to bottom right of the right side dash pad.
It could be that, but why it's intermittent I don't know.
What year car?
A/C or not? (having a/c alters where the flasher is mounted.)
Does it just happen while driving or when the car is sitting idling too?

71 flasher and radio capacitor mount. Looking up from foot well.
