ignition buzzer, help with disconnecting
I have a 69 with T+T. The door buzzer is always on with the LH door open, regardless of if key in ignition or not. It does go off with door closed. Is this normal or should it only buzz with key in ignition.
Easy way to simply disconnect the buzzer?
I can trace it by hearing to inside the fender. Not sure which wire to pull to only affect buzzer and nothing else.
If the top silver cap thing is the actual buzzer, I do not have clearance above it to remove. Not sure if the whole assembly pops off the fender mounting bracket, but I don't want to pull on anything before I know OK.
Picture attached.
Any basic help appreciated (for dummies please).
The key buzzer connection at the horn relay is the pink/black wire.
It sounds like perhaps the reed switch in the steering column is acting up.
Regards,
Alan

Key switch:

You can quiet the buzzer by disconnecting either 'E' or 'F' at the harmonica connection or remove the wire from the front drivers side door jamb switch until you have time to find and fix the root cause.
Not sure what exactly this means: "...'E' or 'F' at the harmonica connection..."
But I did find the pink and black wire and yanked her.
New car to me so many more questions likely to follow.
Since it's a new car to you please let me suggest that you buy an Owner's Manual for it, the proper year Assembly instruction Manual (AIM), and the proper year Chassis Service Manual.
Not ALL the answers are in them but they're still a tremendous help when getting to know and working on a 40+ year old car.

Alan
