How expensive is it to replace a front windshield frame and both door pillars. I bought the car in Orlando to find out later It has rust under the pads. Thanks Blane
Shops around here quotedme $1,500 labor plus parts-another $600.
I'll be welding them in myself  I just ordered the frame parts from Bairs. Now I have to get a MIG welder
:D
Gary
How bad are the door pillars? If they require replacing, that's major surgery. You'll have to essentially remove the entire front clip to replace them. I can't imagine that it'd be an inexpensive proposition to pay for this repair, probably in the $2k range, not to mention the real possiblilty of screwing up the pain in the process.
Hi Blane - just posted in your other thread.
I'm with Gary - but it's not for the meek. My '75 was rusted as you
describe - and the frame was just as bad. I lucked out and found what I
needed to make a nice car from the parts on the 75.
I'm in the middle of a DIY replacement of the upper windshield frame
and Ttop bar. I'll be posting all the pics soon.
Take a look in my web site - not updated for a month, but it should show
you what to expect as you dig in. Click on pictures
