Default Door lock troubleshooting help

I'm trying to find the problem component with my 73 door lock. I can lock the door with the key, but then it will not unlock. Same with the inside lock ****. I have to use the screwdriver to unlock the door. I have the door panel off and am trying to find the specific problem. Can't see any damaged or missing items. It looks like the door lock hardware has never been serviced - original grease and vapor barrier still present (grease is mostly paste now). Any suggestions would be appreciated before I start throwing parts at it. Thanks.

It is probably the actual lock (latch) itself gummed up. Remove it from the car and soak it in some de-greaser. Once clean re-lube with some white lith and re-install. If you want to test this theory before you pull the latch you can remove the door lock from the car and try to throw the lever with your hand in both directions. The pawl lever should move both directions with just a little resistance.
