Default 72 coupe Windshield header molding/sunvisor mount

The inner sun visor mount pins don't fit inside the preformed holes on this header molding. Did I get a later year header?

Hi B,
Looks like the pin is pulled out of the visor a bit.
What's the mount look like on the outer end of the visor?
Regards,
Alan

Hi B,
If you remove the screw from the outer position and move the whole visor toward the side of the car does the rod seem to fit properly then or is the angle of the rod still wrong for matching the depression in the header trim piece?

Alan

This is the only way to make it line up. I'm just wondering if something changed with the mounting hole depression when they put in a bigger mirror. Those are the original visors and mounting pins and I don't remember it fitting like that with the original header.

A smaller visor could work with a more horizontal angle on that depression, but that would require a different shape mounting pin, yet all the mounting hardware is sold as 69-76.

It's a mystery to me.

So here's the difference between an original and and an evidently one size fits all 69-76 reproduction pin. A little better fit as far as the depression in the header but overall the originals still fit better

Hi B,
Boy!
Really quite different!?!
Is it worth looking for a bad set of visors, but with usable mounts, so you can get a better fit?
I'm not sure how rusty the mounts might get from being in an abused car.
???
Regards,
Alan
