'79 tach issues
When starting the car, the tach pegs out at 7000 just before the engine starts.
Had previously replaced the tach board because it was not working at all, has worked good for about 3 weeks until today.
Almost seems like it gets a power surge as the engine turns over.

If the key is turned off, it will eventually return to zero, but still spikes to 7000 on restart, sometimes sticks there

Do you have a filter in-line?
It sounds to me like something may have spiked the tach board chip, possibly what ever took out the first tach board.
Where did you get the board? If it's our board I can replace the chip for you cheaper than you can buy another one.

I do have the stock filter in-line.
Also, I got the new board from you.
