HELP. What is the best way or site to determine the interior color of my 74. The stickers that indicated the colors are gone. It has a wonderful bright Orange ext. & some type of Saddle Int. But,I do not know which Saddle Int. it is. Lite-Med-or Dark. Are there any ways to determine this....
From what I'm reading in two different reference books there was only one Saddle Tan color in '74 and it was medium saddle. Available in both leather and vinyl. There is a color called Light Neutral that was available in vinyl only. If your interior is leather then I would venture a guess that it has to be Medium Saddle. Light Neutral looks just a few shades of brown darker then being a white where Medium Saddle looks closer to a brown. (That's about the best I can do describing shades in words) If you have a pic it would be easier to tell you which you have.
Check for a metal tag rivetted inside the door opening on the drivers side.
The codes for 1974 interior colors are as follows:
Interior Colors Vinyl / Custom
Black....................400......404
Silver....................406......407
Neutral.................408.......-----
Dark Blue..............413...... -----
Saddle..................415......416
Dark Red..............425...... -----
The Custom interior came with leather seat trim, special cut-pile carpeting on the floor, lower door sides, wood grain insert on the floor console & on the door panels.
