I emailed Lars and will mail my carb off on the next few days. And I'd like to get it to about 250-300 eventually. Money is my restraint right now. Atleastbthe cats are gone and all of the epa crap is disconnected too

Yeah, it is an APT, but not the type that most people associate with the M4M (integral choke) carbs: the APT is usually considered to be the central adjustment feature that easily sets the depth of the primary rods into the primary jets on the 1976+ carbs by adjusting the downward stroke of the power piston. The 4MV (divorced choke) carbs after 1968 also had an APT, but it was capped off with a steel cap in the throttle base plate: If you can get the cap off, and if the mechanism is not corroded, you can stick a screwdriver into the baseplate hole and adjust the power piston height of the early carbs, too. A cool feature on the early carbs that most people are not aware of. If the adjustment screw is rusted (almost all of them are), the feature becomes irrecoverably disabled, but you can still adjust the power piston height, and part throttle mixture, by gently bending the spring steel tab controlled by the seized adjustment screw upon removal of the throttle base plate.
