Default H-4 replacable bulb headlights

Has any one considered using the H-4 replacable bulb headlights by Hella and others? They offer them with various powers and in the xenon white high intensity bulbs. Would they handle the jarring of the headlight doors opening and closing? Any advantages?

i got mine from jc witney. less cost, just as good. not 55/60 but 80/100. wow. the light you get is as day light. dificult to adjust the beams. use a level parking area and wall about 25/30 feet away. have some one with you to turn the lights on and off, reason; too hot to touch while adjusting beams. adjust high beams of of center lights first and mark the wall. then plug the new lights in and adjust them to those marks.
you will not be bothered by oncoming high beams cars again, if you flash them just once, unless they have already been blinded
good luck. do not use the high beam all the time, they do get hot.

There was a thread on this a little while ago. Actually, two threads. I started one because I had the same questons. It seems like a lot of people have used the Hellas with success. I tried some JC Whitney headlights and they didn't fit. If Mike can get us the part number he used then I will exchange mine.

Bosch also makes them,I have them on my car.
We can't have sealed beams overhere for the law,so evryone is using the H4 bulbs/lamps.

I think the cheapest way to get the lamp units is taking them out of a first gen Honda Civic, they should fit. :)

If you have the correct unit to use H4 bulbs in,you can get all sorts of bulbs, ranging from normal to bright white or fake Xenon lights..... :yesnod:

If these are the correct size (I'm not sure of the diameter of our bulbs) I'm going to order them this weekend.

The JCW ones were the ones I was considering as well with the fake "xenon" bulbs. I think blackshark was referring to these as well. Not much money for better lights and the new look.
