What to dry off with
New clearcoat paint. Three months old. Just put a coat of wax on and want to rinse and dry occasionaly.
Should I use chamois or baby diaper cloth or something else?

I've always liked a chamois best. Back in the days when my Vette had paint worth washing, that's all I used!

Some use a leaf blower, some a 100% cotten towel, some use a CA water blade. I'm sure there are others ideas out there.

I use a synthetic chamois. Be sure you keep it clean though, no dirt.

I've gotten to where I always use one of those "squeegee" type silicon blades. Doesn't get every drop, but it's very quick.

Thanks. Guess I will get the giant chamois. 50 bucks...ouch.
I have heard over the years about baby diapers as the show car secret. Are they for removing wax?

Re: What to dry off with (Rocket Ron)
I read some where that the friction of a real chamois will remove wax from the paint surface...don't know if it's true but I only use 100% cotton terry cloth towels. The more they are laundered the softer they get

Buy 100 % white Cotton towels made in the USA. Cut the edges off so there is no seam.
There is nothing better, but make sure you get the best towels. :)

I use soft old bathroom towels that my wife has given me. It usually takes two towels and about five minutes. My leaf blower works well too.

I use a CA blade and a towell. If you use a towell, make sure it was not washed with fabric softner.

Another thing about towels; only wash with liquid detergent.

Re: What to dry off with (1LE)
Once you use a California Water Blade you'll never use anything else. I use the blade to get 95% of the water off and The Absorber to dry what's left. Before I start I get the air hose out and blow out the rear vents.

Re: What to dry off with (Rocket Ron)
i use only a genuine choimoise. i keep a bucket of clear water and rinse it periodically while wiping down. does a great job. i need a leaf blower or a hair drier. the hardest part about drying is a get water left in the bottom of the rear window trim. good tip about not using fabric softener on towels. took a while before i figured out why clean towels were streaking the shine....

I like to go about 120 MPH..it will really dry fast that way, and there is no chance of streaks..... :D

I use the Absorber, works pretty well, at least on the 24 year old paint job. No complaints. Keep it damp, keep it clean.
