as I mentioned I converted to 2-wire sockets, which uses 194 bulbs = bayonet style as in
later C3's ... standard bulbs can be installed rotated in either direction 180 Degrees.
when you replace those with Leds, they only work in 1 correct orientation.
Those 1 wire self grounding sockets are the problem 80% of the time.

I also have used my parking lights as running lights, since the 1970's always,
I install the amber front turn/ lights, which are much more visible than white lights.

RESCUE ROGERS:
I now understand your terms on the light switch, which I understood before, I ahve been working on older cars since I was 16 ( 50years ago). But this is a new light switch from ZIP, maybe it is an inferior switch, so I will replace it this winter. I am hardly pout at night to use the headlights, I also like to run the PARKing lights during the day.(if I can remember to turn them off when parking). I also understand the DIMMer switch part of the light switch, and have checked that out. I think I am going to leave the stock dash light bulbs(which are new) and stay off the road at night as much as possible. I will change back the headlights to original bulbs to keep the headlight switch from going open. THANKS to everyone answered me on the question!!!!!!

Rescue Roger:
new dimmer switch in car, maybe a bad one?? bought it from ZIP Grounds are connected, dash has not had anyone in it but me, and I used to work at a CHEVY dealership. Grounds are good and hooked up, so maybe anything else?? I think I going to call WILLCOX for a new light switch, since I will have it opened up. I don't know why the original bulbs were bright enough, but now they aren't. will check everything behind the dash when I am working on it. usually don't have it out at night to check these lights. put halogen headlamps in a few years ago, trying to help with that.Have all new wiring harnesses up front of the firewall because of brittle wiring, and cleaning up of the engine area.

I was not going to replace all the bulbs in the interior with LEDS, just the dash lighting, anyone know of problems just doing this?? (any kin to Willcox supply house?)

THANKS for all the suggestions, keep them coming so I can check them out.
I replaced the bulbs with LEDs on the speedo, tach, all gauges, heater/ac control, cig lighter, map light, seat belt and other warning lights, and under dash courtesy lights. I did not change anything that flashes ( turn signal or hazard). Only issue is with under dash courtesy lights. If the bulb is not completely seated, it will move in its base when you hit a bump in the road and flicker. Getting them into the base is difficult.
Oh, and no relation to the nice guys at Willcox Corvette, that I know of.

I used the SuperbrightLED BA9s -5 SMD LED Tower ( the same one I used for all the gauges ) in cool white for the heater/AC lighting and I used the BA9s 1 LED bulb in cool white for the cigarette lighter/ash tray.
