I would like to add a vacuum and A/F gauge in my 78 pace car. Any good ideas on how I could add without modifying my original panel. i.e. a rt vertical windshield post etc.
It's a pretty small passenger compartment in the C3's. I've mounted extra gauges in two different spots on my 68. First I mounted a voltmeter (68's have ammeters not voltmeters) to the left of the gauge cluster at the bottom right side of the drivers dash pad. Recently, I removed that gauge and added a voltmeter and fuel pressure gauge directly underneath the right (passenger) side dash pad. They're clearly visible from the driver's position. Let me know if you want me to snap a picture of the gauges for you. I personally think it looks OK (obviously not original looking at all).

I seriously hope your fuel pressure gauge is electronic. Mechanical fuel pressure gauges should NEVER EVER be used isnide the car.
If you are willing to give up your radio you can do something like this
I've put an iPod classic in the ash tray. Apple doesn't sell these anymore but I've seen a number of creative replacements on this forum.
Also many of the aftermarket gauges have multiple functions. You should look into that. The AEM gauges I installed have replaceable faces. I designed my own face to match my original GM style but didn't follow through. It can be done though.

Take out the clock! I know it's a slight panel modification but it would look quite stock to the untrained eye
