Well I am finally back at trying to get this running. Its been a few months since I bought it and have a lot of parts for it. I started with the carb. The old one was missing a lot of parts and not worth trying to fix IMO. I bought a brand new Edelbrock 600cfm. My question as of now " many more will follow," is will this carb work with this intake? The bottom of the carb looks different. The intake looks as if it has never been used on the inside. Can you give me some input please. Thanks.
Your gasket should be fine. Place your new gasket over you intake manifold, line the bolt holes up. And you'll see if your carb will fit the ports properly
Looks fine. That's a Performer manifold, I believe. You can use a spread bore or square bore carb. I would probably not use the Performer carburetor, but it will work.
If I remember correctly, Edelbrock makes a thin metal plate to shield against vacuum leaks.
At the least, make sure the gasket covers and seals correctly.

Thank you guys, I need to get two more carb bolts ofr this to tighten on the intake. Two of the bolts I took off were really long and cannot be used. I will post up a few more pictures because I have some vacuum hose questions when I get back from running a service call.
Well I ended up ordering a spreadbore to square bore adapter from Summit, and new upper and lower radiator hoses. They should be here on Wed. I do have some more questions. When I removed the old carb there is a hose that will not hook up to the new one. Any idea where it goes now and what it even goes to? It looks like it might go down near the bottom of the motor. I have not gotten under car to trace it but here are two pics of where it went on the old carb and the hose itself.

I would get the proper length carb studs, instead of using bolts.
Makes for a much nicer all around carb install.
On my 77 that's vac for the canister ,it's below the wiper fluid can.You can get a flat plate adapter kit to go from spread bore to square bore at most auto parts places it'll come with a set of gaskets.Around here Advance and Auto Zone have a "Performance section" they will have the carb stud kit as well.

So where should I put it on the new carb? The carb did come with a 3 port T type fitting, but it looks like its an 1/8" barbed fitting. This hose appears to be 1/4." Do I need it or can I cap it off?
You typically do not need the adapter for that intake. It is designed to fit a square bore and spread bore carb equally well. I have used several different Edelbrock intakes, and switched back and forth from a quadrajet to Holley 4150 style carbs using that flange design - no adapter needed.
Not using the adapter will save you hood clearance too - you may need that space to run a properly sized air filter.
The canister is for collecting fuel vapers from the gas tank and sending them back to the carb to get burned, mine is on a port vac line from the carb ,if you don't hook that back up you may get a fuel smell when parked. On the instructions that came with the carb it should tell you what ports are port or manifold vac.

So on the edelbrock carb, where could I put this? Or T this into?
This is what I have in the instructions. The center port I have the PCV connected. The one to the left I have the hose from distributor, the one to the right is just capped off now because the hose seems bigger than the port? Should I get a reducer for the hose and put it on there or just put the hose on it and use an actual hose clamp?
At you're local auto parts they have reducer fittings.Looks like you'll need a vac gauge to figure out which of those two are timed or full vac.Just bring a pc. of the larger hose with and a pc. of the right hose to get the right fitting.
