What does this do?
I'm new to C3 ownership so forgive my ignorance. I understand the pull down headlight and wiper override switches, but what does the turn **** between them do?

Your owner's manual discusses all three switches and dozens of other whistles and bells on your car.

Don't take offense, as we were all new to these cars at one time, but the purchase of a reproduction owners manual might be helpful. These cars have a lot of quirky things.

Take a white paint pen and put a dot on the front of the ****. They will rotate easily and are the cause of many threads asking why their wipers suddenly dont work.

Hi,
"it will stop them in the open position in order to change the headlights or wipers".
I believe the way the three controls actually operate is that the 2 'pull-down' over-ride switches open the headlight doors, (left pull down), and wiper door, (right pull down), WITHOUT the use of the headlight switch or the wiper switch.
The center **** stops the wipers wherever they happen to be in their 'sweep' when the **** is turned COUNTER CLOCKWISE. (It will even stop them in the 'parked' position).
People often report that when they're having troubles with the wipers or headlights the only way that can open them is by pulling the over-rides.
Regards,
Alan
Here's the hose connections for the headlight override: blue stripe and plain black.
