Default Mr. Gasket Header bolts?

Has anyone used the self locking stainless header bolts from Mr. Gasket? They are about 50$ locally and was wondering if they were worth it.

I felt 50$ was a a little steep for bolts. I also thought that 25$ for valve cover studs was insane too... But they worked well... Any input would be appreciated.

ARP universal studs are the smartest way to do headers. You put the studs in the head with red locktite. hang the gasket on and then the headers. No dorking around trying to get bolts in or cross threading. I use the black 5/16th for clearing my 1 3/4 headers. Felpro blue steel header gaskets.

I buy from McMasterCarr.com for my valve cover studs, flange bolts and similar items......

ARP header studs are very nice....but pricey as well.....

I've learned the hard way. I can't put a price tag on my sanity, if it means that the job is done and I can enjoy it, then I extra coin is peice of mind. Nothing ruins the enjoyment of a mod than having to do it over and over again.

I'll definitely check em out though!

Your vette is so beautiful......... I was cruising around during HAN and went to summit racing one afternoon for a non entered car show. I should have got a hold of you earlier.

I can't say enough good things about header studs. I used to have motors where I cut the flange in half to help put them on. I tried Stage 8 locking bolts with the C-clip idea. I've used lock wired grade 8 header bolts. Way back when I used to double gasket headers and still have blown out header gaskets with Mr. Gasket stuff.

Thanks George. My grandson was here during HAN, so I only made it up for the Friday night cruise. He had a blast!
