When we converted to the BB last winter, the only thing I have not replaced are the axle stubs that go into the differential. I have found that BB cars had heavy duty ones and I still have the ones that came with my SB. Any suggestions on where to get them and do I really need to do it?

Re: Replacing axle stubs for BB? (467-Ratman)
I just sold a set of big block ones. I have aftermarket forged ones. I am a big believer in over building things. Stub axles are one of the weak links in the rear, and you have a pretty stout big block. If one breaks you are going to wish you had good ones.
Tom,
The yokes themselves are the same the difference is what holds the u-joint, the BB yokes are threaded to accept a bolt which holds a cast cap instead of the strap as used on the SB yoke. I have a NOS/GM in the package set of caps for sale if anyone is interested. ...redvetracr
PS: a friend of mine bought a set of those "fancy" trick yokes a couple of years ago, he snapped one right away.
