door lock still broken
:rolleyes: I took the passenger side door panel off to see what things should look like. Well, the lock on the passenger side door has an extra covering plate on it, which the driver side door doesn't have. Looks like bubba has been in my driver side door. Anyway, I chickened out and didn't remove the cover because enough things are broken already.
I checked online catalogs to see if that would help, and it might have. There is a lock, a "pawl", and a rod. I have all of the above, and none of them look broken. But my pawl (this is some sort of small connecting thing that looks like a bracket) can't make up it's mind on where to go and what to do when the key is turned to unlock. It locks just fine.
Someone said something about a spring. Is there a spring involved in all of this? If there is, no vendors online sell them, any ideas on sources? Does anyone have any pics of how this all fits together?
