Default rear dampers

getting ready to remove the 3:23's and put in 3:70's. i would like to upgrade the shocks in the rear. any suggestions? (bilstein, belltech, kyb, monroe ect.). i use this 71 small block to cruise in the back roads where i live and every once in a while i'll cruise into town. i also ring it out a few times on my cruise and i'm by myself most of the time. i still have the BFGoodrich t/a radials 245/60/15 on the rear so traction will very limited. thanks for any suggestion.

You can do a search for shock recommendations, topics been beat to death I think. I just put Bilstein HDs on my '77 with Gymkhana HD suspension. Very happy with them, a little pricey though.

I don't know about bilstien hd. I had the b extreme and before that many years of the kbb gas adjust

the Koni 3 way adjustable might be in your future

My preference is the QA1 dual adjustable

Bilstein HD's all-around if you have a metal leaf spring in rear. If you have a fibreglass monoleaf spring in rear, Bilstein HD's in front and Bilstein Sports in rear.

I have QA-1 non-adjustables all around on my stock Gymkhana suspension. Very pleased with the ride.

But if you have a 300lb or less composite in the rear, then I would recommend the Bilstein HD's all around...330/360/420lbs composite in the rear then I would recommend the HD's front and Sports rear which is what I have.
