Default '76 Mystery Switch

Does anyone know what this switch is for? The wires are cut off the back, I have no idea what it does/is supposed to do.
At first I thought it was an aftermarket add-on for an amplifier or something installed by a PO, but I just noticed the same switch in the same location of this '76 which isn't mine.
It's a black rocker switch with a little red light on it.
Seems like a dumb place for a factory rocker switch.

That's the location of the factory rocker on my 75. It controls the rear window defroster blower. Center is off, top and bottom positions are high and low.

^ These guys are correct. Yours is an electric defroster, so should just have on and off positions. It was a factory option in 1976. I sold a 1976 this summer that had one.

Thanks, I was just about to reply that my switch only has two positions, (on/off) and no blower near the window. OK, so I guess I have to trace the wires back and reconnect it.
THANK YOU!!!
