For clarification, when I speak of a battery tender, I mean the product called "Battery Tender" made by Deltran. Its a great product and endorsed by Harley-Davidson, or it was at one time. Trickle chargers need constant monitoring or it will toast the battery the same as any battery charger that can't turn itself off/on by sensing the voltage. In summary, all battery chargers/tenders are not equal.
Deltran "Battery Tender" I've used them for years with no problems.
