I have a 77 with a good battery and a new screw **** style shut off. Lately when turning power on I get no power to anything in car or there's about a 20 second delay. Anyone ever see anything like this? Any info would be great. Thank You

sounds like a poor ground connection or cable w high resistance. second guess is the switch itself is open internally.

I will find and check grounds and it wouldn't hurt to change out battery cables also. You mentioned " the switch " are you referring to ignition switch? Thanks for the info!!
I have had the screw type switches fail similar to your observations. I have changed to a blade type when replacing the battery switch. Not a problem on the 69 but a real treat on the 61 and 64 where you have to reach back under the fender and feel for the blade. Others have noted the quality of some of the screw battery switches has suffered for a few years.

I like the turn switch kind like I have on my boat. I'm going to try replacing both cables first because they look pretty old and sorta stiff. the shut off is new from NAPA.
