In gear idle a little too low...
My Corvette idles at 1,000rpm in park. In drive or any other gear it idles at 500rpm, but smoothly. How do I raise the idle in gear? The timing is set @12deg. advance.
Do I just raise the idle on the left side of the Holley or do I need to advance the timing more or what??
(the car is in the muffler shop right now, so I can't horse with it until tomorrow)
Thanks,
Aaron

Even though your cam isn't that big the 1.6:1 rockers are making it look bigger.I'd say you need a 2500 - 3000 stall convertor. Check your manifold vacuum at idle,if its around 12 inches its cam overlap. I put a 2500 stall behind my LT-1 engine in my 71 w/308 rear gears Idles at 800 ok. You could go to 3000 stall with the 3:70 you have :yesnod:

Your converter stall speed is too low in the RPM range and is dragging the rpm down because of it when there's a load on it.

I had the same problem before I did the tranny swap. The 2200 stall converter did the trick! (I'm just beginning to wonder if my L82 is really stock, however...)
