Hi, I ordered a new radiator for my 68, 427. It came in with the holes for the automatic engine, mine is standard. The guy who was going to install it for me said it needed the plugs which did not come with it. I called the place I purchased it and they said all the replacement radiators are made for automatics and you do not need to plug the holes. Anyone know who is correct? Thanks
there is no reason to plug the holes other than aesthetic, nothing flows through them with a standard transmission. You may need a more knowledgeable installer before he does something wrong. Ask him what he intends to do with the radiator shroud, if he says cut it, go somewhere else.

Thank you! I will bring it to someone else, I was starting to feel uneasy and best to go with my gut and pay more money and get it done correctly.
it should have come with plastic plugs in them when it was shipped. the installer should have left them in. spray paint em black if they are a different color. I've probably got some floating around in my parts bins if you want them and don't want to buy any brass ones...or just stop at any radiator shop and look on the ground or in their trash, they'll probably just give you a pair.
but no, you don't need them, I always use them just so no crap gets in there, bugs mud dawbers, etc. in case I end up using the radiator in some other project, which is common for me...
