Default Replacing antenna mast

Broke/bent my antenna mast. Dadgum toll road bar did not go up when it should. Sitting there, noticed the bar is the same height as the roof, and I can just drive under it, which I did. Unfortunately, forgot about the radio being on and the antenna up. Bent the antenna just enough so it will not retract. When trying to loosen it up some to see if I could straighten it up some, as part of that process, I pulled it up too much and antenna and ribbon just unwound from motor. Nothing is wrong with the motor. I vaguely remember a post many moons ago about just being able to thread a new antenna and ribbon into the antenna motor and the motor will grab the ribbon and reconnect itself. Is this right? Can I just buy the antenna and ribbon somewhere?

Help!

Theoretically you can replace the mast that way, but I have not seen any for sale with just the mast.
