I am doing an NCRS restoration on my 70 BB convertible, I have removed the composite rear spring and am trying to figure out who manufactured it and what it is worth. I think it is probably a TRW based on my web search, but I am not sure. It has a sticker with a model no. of 602-101-103-1.
The VB&P Springs are made 3 at a time. They are run threw a Table Saw and cut into there final width. There is no Taper to them, they are equal width from one end to the other.
Its a late 90's TRW. Three rates were produced, and were identified by the numbers in the boxes following the 602 prefix. 101's were 315 lb rate, 103's were 340 lb rate, and 105's were 355 lb rate. Usually, 2 of the 3 boxes were "blacked" out with dry marker; the remaining box identified the rate for that specific spring. Unfortunately, your pic looks like only one box is blacked out. Look closely, perhaps there is evidence of a mark near one of the remaining boxes.
I have a 602-103 (340 lb rate) which I purchased thru Muskegon Brake in 1997. The 101 and 105 box are blacked out. Hope this helps.
I have a TRW composite leaf spring that I want to sell, but, the readable part# is incomplete. "602 ??? 103 105" "s/n 0104457". From the comments it appears the second # group is the spring rate. So, am I screwed ? Hope the pic helps.

The second group is the spring rate
101 = 315lb
103 = 340lb
105 = 355lb
First number would have been the 602
Since the 103 and 105 are still visible and not punched I'd say it must be a 101 so 315lb. Only other thing would be the width in the mount area and I'm not sure if they were actually different or they just used different plates. Do you have the mounting blocks etc that went with the spring?
