This is the first one that I'll be attending (this Saturday) so I don't have anything to compare it to. Early on, Mid-America was talking about live bands, etc. Now, it's a "DJ". The information on the website is sparse (the fairgrounds close at 4:00 and then re-open?). I know, what should I expect for free, yada, yada. It just seems like a vendor carnival and not much else.
I actually have a better one as I'm entering a left hand turn. I shot a photograph of my left hand rear view mirror, showing three C5s chasing me, with the turn ahead in the background of the picture. As soon as I can track down a scanner, I'll post it.
I've been to all of the Funfests except the one in '97. I've always had fun but some have been better than others. In a way your right, it could be looked at as a vendor thing. I go for lot's of reasons. I've used the same motel for the last 4 years and have made lots of friends from all over. It's just a well run gathering of some of the best Corvettes on the road. It's very well ran!

I got the club email... My motor is done today! ...well... tomorrow, I still need a plug for intake manifold. Her body isn't pretty and I'm going to have to spray paint the rear bumper (and wash all the spilled bbq sause and beer off the front fenders) but if all goes well my break in miles will be clocked on my first run to Effingham (sp?) with you guys! I'll be the one in the janky silver 76 with the sexy overweight ex-hells angel grease monkey named Mark riding shot gun  (I'll make him shower before we leave).
See ya at Dairy Queen!
