Default Rear Rotors Question

Anyone see a problem with drilling a peep hole in the rotor hub area for access to the park brake adjust sprocket?
For whatever reason, my left side rotor has 2 holes (at 6 and 12) to make the adjustments while the rotor is on. The right side does not, and I'm left to get the sprocket as wound as I can with the rotor off, while then still being able to get it back on over the expanded shoes.
I don't think I'm getting quite enough grip overall - even though my cable yoke is pretty pre-tightened. And I'm suspecting my right side shoes are not as close to the drum as the left side.
Just looking to drill 1 or 2 holes adjacent to the lug bolt holes just like the other side.

Make sure you don't have a front rotor on your right rear. Fronts don't have the parking brake adjustment holes.

Wow - I haven't opened up these front brakes yet, but after deep-diving the rears and learning about the redundant park brake drum/shoes set-up, I'm really surprised that the disc-only front rotors could be swapped over to the rears.
I'll check into tonight.
My assumption would have been that the rears had a much deeper dish to package the whole shoe system within it.

There is an offset difference front to rear, but it isn't much. The parking brake adjustment holes are the simple way to distinguish between front and rear.

Rotor is about 1/8" offset from front to rear, they are different rotors.
you won't see this, until you can't get the brake calipers to line up correctly.

If you check the thickness of the disc where the wheel studs go through

front is .388" thick, rear .250" thick
