Default Headers for a ZZ4

Anyone know what headers will work with a ZZ4? Jegs says the ONLY ones that will work are Hookers P/N 2134 for $299. Summit says only the Hedman ones with the "D" shaped interface work. HELP! I need them ASAP.

THANKS!

My dynomax headers for a C3 vette fit fine. They only cost $215.

According to the GM manual that came with my ZZ4 engine, any header port configuration is fine. The header pipes do not need to be the "D" shape to exactly match the exhaust port.

Basically look at it this way. If you are going from a 2" pipe to a 2 1/2" pipe you won't have any major flow problems. However, going from a 2 1/2" outlet to a 2 inch pipe, with no "blend" you are going to have serious issues.

Going from the "D" shaped exit of the exhaust port to a full round pipe will not cause any major issues, and GM even states that in their documents.

The major thing to look for in ZZ4 / C3 headers is that it will A: fit in the C3 and B: work with angle plug heads.

Good luck.

I just got off the phone with Summitt and they claim that the Dynomax (p/n WLK-86008) will fit the ZZ4 with angled plug heads. I ordered them, only $225 for cermaic coated.

OK, I ordered the Dynomax Cermic-coated headers (p/n 86008) and just figured out that they have a 1 5/8 inch primary and the ZZ4 ports are 1 3/4 inch...is that right? How did you get yours to fit? What gaskets did you use? I would cancel the order but I'm an imaptient, instant gratification kind of guy and had them overnight the headers and of course everything already shipped.
