Default Rectangular port intake / heads

Hi Guys,

Considering options - but not sure on compatibility!

I've got a good set of 3994026 heads on my car - mildly ported/rebuilt 118cc open chamber rectangular port heads...

currently matched with the correct OEM high rise 4 bbl rectangular port manifold and topped with a Holley 750cfm ultra double pumper.

Currently have a (cheap repro) L88 hood that i'd like to get rid of - but the manifold/carb/air cleaner have hood clearance issues with a standard big block corvette hood.

the question i have is - are all rectangular port heads created equal? can i use any rectangular port head manifold with these heads, or would some machine work be required to port match some manifolds?

the reason i ask is because i've got my eye on a 3894374 67 tripower setup that i could get my hands on for reasonable money... would it fit? if not, what would? (both the heads and under the hood!)

many thanks for your thoughts!

dave

They should match up OK, but be aware are oval port tri power manifolds too.

If I recall the rectangle port OEM 4 barrel is a low/mid rise and fits under a BB hood with dropped air cleaner.

It will fit heads fine but remember the C2 intake is taller than the C3 one.

Argh! Does a c2 fit under a c3 hood, though?
