So I'm reassembling my 68 after doing my frame-off Resto, and I can't remember where this pair of brackets came from, and can't seem to find them in any of my parts catalogs. Its' a 68 base coupe 4 speed car. They have the 1/4" bolts with a large fender washer that I left in them when I took the car apart about 14 months ago to get started on the project. Anyone have any ideas?
Similar, but already have the shroud brackets installed. I think they came off the rear of the frame. Could they be for the spare tire holder, because I removed that a couple years back, and everything else is pretty much installed, except the parking brake cables, and brake handle. It was somewhere underneath the car, I'm not to concerned though.

I'm recanting my post, I was mistaken.

Hi,
I find it unusual that the holes are so much larger than the diameter of the bolt that mount in them?!?
Don't recognize them as being used on the spare tire carrier.

Alan

The holes that mount them to wherever they came off the frame are for a 1/4" bolt, but the big hole on the other end of the L bracket has me confused unless iy is a stand-off bracket for the parking brake cables, that's about the only thing I haven't put back together yet.
Could it be an alarm bracket ?<br/>#593059 from Corvette Central
Not sure, no alarm on my car, but they're a pair of brackets one came off the left side and the other from the right side. I took them off when I painted the frame. I must have thought at the time that I could figure out where they went, but I was obviously mistaken. A year later and I've found out my mind is not a steel trap anymore.
