Black is what I painted mine. I also like body color as long as it is not white. :crazy:

All those black recommendations surprise me. I did a 327 in black and chrome for a hot rod, mainly because orange clashes with the body color - wild strawberry. But I think it is lovely and I may even do my Vette motor in black.

one vote for blue here. my 79 L82 has a blue block. silver intake and black valve covers. looks cool with the black vette.

I used a 1/2" brush with cellulose brushing paint (satin black :) ). The results are good but you must thorougly degrease it all 1st. After degreasing I went over every part by hand with old rags & cellulose thinners. I put on several coats of paint & did it in cold weather so that it dried fairly slowly (no brush strokes).
