Im attempting to take apart my engine. I have all the rod bolts off, how do i get the bottom of the rods off, so I can take the piston/rod out? Is there an easy way?
Actually, you will have to tap on the bolts themselves. Be careful not to scratch the crank with the threads of the bolts when the cap comes off. I used some fuel line on the bolts so when it rested against the crank journal it would be protected. Good Luck, Craig
First, i would reccomend renting a ridge reamer from autozone, once you are done cleaning the black film off the ridge of the cylinders. Use a shop towel to soften the hit w/ hammer, and evenly tap the rod bolts, just be careful not to damage the crank. Hope this helps
Tap, wiggle, pry(lightly), tug...tap, wiggle, pry(lightly), tug.... slowly but surely they'll come off. They're a bugger though. They need to come off STRAIGHT.
I saw "POOTIE TANG" recently on a premium channel .... it's a ridiculously funny send up of movies & characters such as "Shaft" "SuperFly" and "The Artist Formerly known as Prince"
Pootie (facing you in pansy violet) has a baby blue chrome bumper shark. Although the car is not seen much in the movie, it seems a nice example & is not pimped out nor riced. Sports guru Bob Costas appears as he interviews Pootie. Grab a a beer & watch with some buds ... it's a hoot!
