It's in a bad spot: within the Steering Column.
Any repair that fails/breaks might fall into the Column Tube and cause a real problem.
Doesn't take much torque (1 of 3 that hold the Turn Signal Switch down), and I have no idea how someone broke it.
And that upper ridge of the Housing looks chewed on for some reason too.
Because of the way the top of the column is "chewed" up, I personally would send an email or PM to Jim Shea. He posts on here regularly and is an expert on anything steering column related with these cars. If there is anyone that knows the best way to address this it would be him. JIML82@aol.com
