Default Minilite Rims on a 1971????

Hi....I'm interested in purchasing a set of Minilite rims for my 71.

I have a standard body (no flares) what would be the widest rim and tire combo that I can use on the car without having any rubbing issues?

I am hoping that I can go bigger than a 15" rim. Any suggestions and pics out there that you guys may want to share??

Thanks for your help!!

PS...I've attached a pic of my car now.

JMO, Minilite wheels were the best looking road racing back in the day.

I had 15 x 8 Western Superlites (a minilite look-alike, but made in the USA). It looked super. Your car is very nice, and the spoked wheels will give it a nostalgic look.

I was having trouble deciding between Minilites and Ansen sprints for my current car. I happened upon a set of 4 Ansens, and went with them. I like them both. The cheapskate in me won the battle....

I got a quote for a set of 4 minilites a few weeks, 2 8" for the front and 2 10" for the back was about $1,000.00. My car has L88 flares, so the bigger ones would fit fine.

Just make sure about the backspacing.. I wouldn't go over 4", otherwise your tires will rub on the e-brake bracket on the trailing arms.

Love your car!

Ed, beautiful looking car. The minilites will look great, hopefully you will post a picture with your new wheels when you get them.

Very nice.

I just purchased a new set of Superlite wheels from Vintage wheels. They sell them in all sizes, offsets and backspacing. Silver centers are standard however, you can order them in any center color you desire. Top quality and they were great to work with.
