You can pay a lot and get something worse than an imported item. Most of the used OEM stuff is worse than what's already on my car. And that's pretty bad.

Well, to put another update on this topic for future reference.

Pulled the shafts to re-do the u joints, so what better time to check the flange/spline issue.

Pulled the pin out and nut off, slid the spline out soaked everything in brake cleaner to get it as clean as I could, put the loc-tite 660 paste on it (looked like toothpaste) and re-assembled it. Nut at 100ft# with a new stainless pin. Then went ahead re-assembled the u joints. Worked at it off and on for a couple months. Finally got it all buttoned back up last weekend. My "click" noise and flange movement is gone when rolling the car back and forth. the 660 seems to have solved/band-aided my movement issue.

Planning on putting some K's on this summer and will report back.
