Re: has anyone here tried this stuff??? (SIGNGUY)
Nope, but I did just see it on this week's Trucks (on TNN).
The parts they showed painted with it (air cleaner lid & base, and valve covers) looked very nice.
My engine compartment is pretty much stock so I can't think where I'd use it there. It'd be nice to try on the spouse's Grand Am, but I think most of the engine compartment on that car is plastic

Huh. Interesting. I have a hard time believeing that it won't look like gold colored paint or whatever color it is. I'm curious though.

Yup. :D
Used it on the engine. The Valve covers, intake, pulleys, and anything else red. The intake it the Metal cast ground coat.
Nice stuff.

You need to be careful with it at first. It's said as you heat it it cures to a harder surface. Kind of like the engine paints out there now. I'm very happy with the results.

Nice job on your valve covers. Love the graphics on them. How did you do the lettering? Did you paint then scatch off the letters leting the crome show thru.

Thanks 73. The valve covers came with the wording etched in them. I painted them the anodized red color and then went back with high temp silver paint and filled them in. I'm very please with the way they came out.
