Default Blower motor capacitor
What does this thing do? I'm trying to diagnose a really bad high pitched noise coming from the blower motor on a 77 with AC. The motor works and changes speed with the different selections at the switch. The motor is the one that came with the car or at least appears to be so. Maybe the shaft is worn.

The capacitor is there to reduce radio interference from the blower motor.

The noise is probably bad motor bearings.
