I used stainless steel block hugger headers on my first upgraded exhaust system for my GM 350 HO crate engine. It's not a BB, but the results might be the same. I had to replace the block huggers a year after I put them in because they melted the Energy Suspension polyurethane motor mounts. The block huggers came within an inch of the motor mounts.
I switched to equal-length tube long headers and mandrel bent true dual exhaust pipes. I don't have the melted motor mount problem anymore.
I recommend you look for headers that are swept rearward of center.

Hi
I see what you mean but today I have some swept headers and they melted the bushing in the pitarm and are also very very close to the steeringbox in fact someone had to make a bump in the pipe for clear the box as it is today. And the pipes are at least 1 7/8" maybe a bit to big?!
I will take a photo to show because I have sidepipes and from headers the pipe is S shaped to connect to the sidepipes so long headers is no option I am afraid. And I dont wanna invest in new pipes as it is now.
