Do you have electric fans controlled by a fan controller? If so, where in the world did you mount it?
I'm going with an Auto Cool III controller. It does away with relays and power spikes to the charging system with Pulse Width Modulation or PWM. I read about the controller here on the forum. What are you guys running?
I have the Dakota digital controller mounted here. Probably not the best place to put it but it's easily accessible for adjustments and not in the way. I haven't had the car on the road yet to really test it but with it running in the garage it seems to work fine.
I finally had the opportunity to mount and wire my fan controller box. My '81 had some emission relays up on the firewall. They were long gone. My new controller fit that spot perfectly.
The controller is a pulse width modulation type. The controller is solid state and uses no relays. I purchased an Autocool III from the Auto Cool Guy. It's rated at 125 amps. Overkill? Yes.
I have yet to test the system at this point. My steering column is apart and battery disconnected. Updates coming soon.
