How difficult is it to get to the rear of the radio, or to replace the entire radio in a 1976 Corvette Stingray

It's always been easier for me to pull the center gauge cluster. While you are at it, check all your connections and repair as needed.

There's a few hidden screws but once you find them, it comes apart pretty easy. If I remember correctly, there is a screw on each side of the console screwing up into the center panel. The little side panels near the gas pedal and the other side will give you access to the wires and those hidden screws. Usually the OEM radios crap out and sending it out for a rebuild is your only option, unless you are going aftermarket.
