Hi C69,
No, it's not normal.
They may have fit once but they appear to have been bent up (squashed) after they left the manufacturer.
Do you know where they came from?
Regards,
Alan

This shows the standard brake lines not the power brake lines. The power brake lines will be much shorter, but should still be neatly formed.

It looks to me if the proportioning valve was more inline with the master the lines may fit I'll have to look at mine today when I go in the garage.

Hi,
I believe you'll find the position of the distribution block is determined by the tab on the bottom corner of it's mounting bracket that fits in a drilled hole in the frame rail.
Regards,
Alan

From the photo it kinda looks like you're trying to install standard brake lines on a power brake car. What do you have and what did you order?

thanks for responses. This is a power brake setup. I don't recall the manuf. my restoration has taken 4 years to date!
I guess my question to you guys is the fact that the lines are so close. I would just need to bend them a little to get them towards to master cylinder holes. Is this normal for new lines? Are they usually not exact? Is it ok to bend them with a tool? Thanks

Last set I purchased (some years ago) were nearly a perfect fit.
Required only a little "stretch" to get the threads started.
You look far from that.
BUT; if you can get them in the holes without kinking the lines you'll be fine.

you should be able to gently bend the lines to make them fit verify the fitting are correct first..
if you kink the line, while bending you will need to replace it.
leave the dist. block connections slightly loose and bend the lines as needed.
either you have the wrong lines, or they have been crushed.

Get a tubing bender. It is cheaper than a kinked line.

Here is a view of the lines on my power brake 73. They fit without
any modification.
