I installed a MSD tach drive distributor and have had no issues with timing since. I also have a MSD 6AL ignition system too. I'm running 500hp 454 LS-5 now.
I installed the pointless ignition by "Lectric "Limited" which makes it impossible to tell it has been modified. It uses the same wire from the coil to distributor and you don't need to add a wire to get a full 12 volts. It runs about $160 and you can get it from a number of Corvette distributors. I also received good support from their company when I had an issue that I created when I was being stupid and they sent me another part no charge. You may want to visit their site and read about it. Good luck.

You can rebuild the original distributor including the tach gear if you wish (all the parts are available), that is what I did then added a Pertronix unit and an ignition module from Aldon (they are an English company so would be closer to you to source from) else you can try your luck with one of the aftermarket distributors that are available with a tach drive.
I'm hijacking the thread so sorry about that!
I'm from Europe also and I'm also making ignition conversion. So far I have leaned toward Breakerless from Lectric Limited because of the ease of instalation. Are you users of that set-up happy with it?
