Default aftermarket radio install

I bought a JVC stereo for my 78. I cut the bezel to fit the new unit and that fits fine.

What is a good way to mount the new radio? It came with a cage but there is nothing to mount it one. I'm guessing this has been done thousands of times and someone has a great way to mount it.

Tried a forum search but everything concerns cutting the bezel.

I have the bezel and the dash board out of the car at this time.

As always, any help is appreciated

You mount the cage, and then the radio slides inside the cage, so you need the opening to be large enough slide the cage in. Once the cage is in, you will notice there are "tabs" cut out near the edge of the cage. You can bend these tabs so they hold the cage in place, these tabs will be just inside the cage opening, press them outward to hold the cage in place. I would think there has to be lots of you tube videos of this, or try the manufacturers website if you don't have the instruction manual. Most all manufacturers have PDF files of the manual that you can download or print

You should also have gotten some KEYS with the cage set up. These are used to slide in between the radio and the cage to move the tabs so you can remove the radio in the future without having to take the dash apart.

Also, remember to make a bracket that attaches to the back of the new radio to reduce vibration, similar to the original

Default I believe this is what you're searching for...

I included some pictures in my comments:

I bought a single din centre gauge cluster. Yep, it cost more but the cage was a perfect fit for my Pioneer flip up display. I secured the back of the radio with a length of pipe strapping to an existing threaded stud on the console hump.
